In this KulaBrands Review, I am going to talk about the KulaBrand’s membership, payment plans, and commitments.

Crowdfunding has become so popular it’s basically “mainstream” today. What used to be a way for low-income communities to rally around business owners and young inventors is now the norm for garnering the necessary funds to make something happen. KulaBrands has capitalized from the concept of crowdfunding, but has added a mandatory, membership-based element to it.
What is Kulabrands?
Peter Gantner and Doug Kyle founded KulaBrands.com. It goes by the tagline: the launching-branding-building community. Kulabrands is essentially a global network of paid-for members that take part in the funding and support of other business/inventors products. As their website puts it: “imagine starting a business, working a few hours per week from the comfort of your own home, and building a residual income that can be passed from generation to generation. As a KulaBrands member, you’ll be part of a close-knit community where everyone works together.”
At the surface, KulaBrands’ mission is to help inventors, entrepreneurs, business owners, and dreamers find the funding and necessary support they need to bring a product or idea to the global market. Through crowdfunding, or the pooling of various individual’s money for the manufacturing costs, these people can essentially draw from a funding pool similar to that of a corporation or large business. It’s a way to circumvent the necessary capital start-up costs on just about anything.
KulaBrands offers its members three different services:
1. Crowdfunding assistance: through their reward-based crowdfunding process, KulaBrands helps entrepreneurs obtain the capital they need to launch their product.
2. Branding and marketing: KulaBrands provides a social media membership that encourages members to share a new product or service to their pages.
3. Advertising and sales: KulaBrands leverages the power of the Internet to help promote and drive sales for all products that are supported by the KulaBrands community.
KulaBrands Compensation Plan
There are multiple ways to receive payment through KulaBrands. Once the product hits the funding level it needs to be sold, KulaBrands splits the royalty fees with the participating members. When the money comes in, there will be 3 pools that get the royalties: the Founders Pool, the Branding Marketing Pool, and the Sales Pool. Members are simply paid out on the value of the point.
Founders Pool: Members in the Founders Pool must also be in another pool as well. They can choose to do one of the two remaining pools, or just go with all of it. This constitutes members who pledge an amount to the project before it goes into official production, thereby earning their Founders Pool Point.
Branding Marketing Pool: Individuals who promote the product on their social media will earn a point in this category as a marketing affiliate. The points are tracked in the KulaBrands in-house system.
Sales Pool: Members are also eligible to earn points if a product is purchased through their replicated storefront websites.
To join, individuals have the option of a one-time payment of $199, or they can go for the $20 per month for 12-month payment plan, which comes out to $240 in the end. Once in, members don’t need to pay for monthly payments and they get to choose how long they want to be with the company.
There’s a lot to be said for the KulaBrands platform. One major pro is that members are not required to recruit, which is the number one thing people don’t want when they start a business. Additionally, businesses don’t need to invest money to get a product off of the ground. It comes at a low-risk to do it through KulaBrands.
Next, the platform offers a royalty-based, life-long income plan that revolves around one-time actions. It’s definitely a place for someone who doesn’t want to have a massive financial and time-consuming commitment.
Plus, investing in these startup businesses and their products produces positive impacts for both the business owners and the general consumer population. Without funding these ideas, we’d never be exposed to some of the best inventions/ideas to come.
This is something the KulaBrands’ website won’t tell you: members basically get to vote on what products are up for crowdfunding and marketing. Though the site may sound like an end-all be-all solution to launching any kind of product, do be warned: it’s up to the KulaBrands community if they want to support you/fund you. This kind of voting-based approval creates clique-related conflicts and requires members to do a lot of persuading, which can ultimately end up taking more time than it’s worth in the end.
Although joining is not a huge financial risk, using the platform for the betterment of your service is. Nowhere on the website do they promise security of your investments and things of that nature. If you’re not willing to take a risk with spending $200 for potentially nothing, then this is definitely not the membership for you. Contrary to their marketing, do understand nothing is guaranteed to you at the end of your KulaBrands experience.

You’re going to see a lot of headlines out there reading: is Kulabrands legit or a scam? Though we would agree it is not a scam, there is a reason people have posted these articles. We are recommending you take the KulaBrands platform with caution. If you’re fine with gambling $200 for a potentially big payoff, then this is the site for you. If you can’t spare $10 for a press release, we don’t recommend this kind of investment for a not-guaranteed return.
One thing is certain; the crowdfunding industry is growing at an astronomical rate today. There’s dozens of legitimate sites that let you market and promote your product to non-members across the Internet. If you feel that KulaBrands may not be your community, don’t hesitate to check out the other options out there.
