No worries because in today’s blog post I am going to share with you my 5 secret techniques to improve your email subject lines in your email marketing journey.
If you are involved in the home based business industry either through Network Marketing or Affiliate Marketing then you must get a grip with the truth about making money online will require you to write emails consistently to the leads on your email list.
It’s a skill all online marketers must learn and master called Email Marketing!
The purpose of coming up with great subject lines in your outgoing emails is to get your subscribers interests peaked to the point that they want to open up your email to read the rest of the content.
For example, if I am writing a broadcast email to my leads who are into the business opportunity seeker niche then I might create a subject line like: “Why You Are Failing…”
The lead might see this type of email subject line and say, Huh, failing at what? I’ve got to see what this email is about and then click to read the rest of the message. Notice how this subject line doesn’t come across salesy and builds that curiosity in the leads mind.
You can create a subject line that is showing empathy which means that it will appeal to your leads personal feelings or beliefs. For example, if I am going to write this type of subject line I might say something like: “Tired of having more month at the end of the money”
The lead might see this type of email subject line and say, Yes! I’m so tired of running out of money and like to know how I can change that. Your job as a email marketer is to make sure you are provide enough content that is going to open your leads mind about taking action based on what you did when you were going through this situation they are now going through.
In your email you can write about what happened to you that changed all that and reference some helpful solutions that has helped you and how it can totally help them.
When you go shopping and are at the checkout counter with the cashier at the grocery store what do you see next to the candy? Magazines that’s right!
Now what jumps out to you when you pick up one of these magazines? The headlines and stories about celebrities, recipes to lose weight and TV Guides on the upcoming reality shows.
The reason magazine companies are so successful is because they pay big bucks to top advertisers and copywriters to come up with those amazing and sizzling headlines that make you want to buy their magazines.
It’s not only appealing but so are the interesting stories inside that you are making your mouth water or arousing your fantasies about what is going on in these celebrities lives or how to make a special dish to lose weight.
So an interesting subject line I might come up with would be: “Homeless couple makes 45K in 15 weeks”. What! that’s totally worth opening.
This is a major secret to my success in email marketing and it’s a good way to get your subscribers to open your emails. Many times you learn by sending out these type of emails daily to your list that your open rates and click through rates are higher than your morning email broadcasts.
If you are sending out a email broadcast to your list let’s say in the afternoon or evening and including some type of bonus or incentive we call this kind of email a PM email. A PM email is typed up very short and straight to the point of telling your subscriber to take action to make a purchase from your affiliate link.
An incentive type of subject line could include the words like “Limited One Time Offer” or “BONUS Inside”.
Which brings me to the 5th secret…
Creating subject lines that have some sort of scarcity means there is only so much time the subscriber will have before they miss out on a special promotion. All scarcity means is a fear of loss and it’s widely used as a psychological trigger in the internet marketing industry.
If I were to come up with a scarcity type of subject line for example it would be: “Hurry, these BONUSES will be gone at Midnight!”
These are the 5 secret techniques to improve your subject lines and get higher open rates as well as click through rates. Have fun creating them it will feel uncomfortable at first but with practice and testing you will get better each day.
