The Misrepresentation of The Ameriplan Scam?
Since 1992 the network marketing company known as Ameriplan has been doing business in the United States and has positioned themselves as leader in the discount card health benefits industry. Ameriplan is not considered an alternative to a general health insurance plan or company as well as they are not regulated by the US Department of Health. Ameriplan is more of a membership based health discount card program that pays their referral agents for selling their discount services.
Ameriplan’s name and business owners the “Bloom Brothers” has been printed and featured in various business publications and on television broadcasting networks such as Good Morning America.
We have found that there are many bad consumer and non-consumer stories about the Ameriplan Scam that are very misleading. There are successful stories of members benefiting from using the discount services and have earned savings compared to regular non-member out of pocket expenses.
The company has a disclaimer on their website that simply states the following:
The discount medical plans of AmeriPlan® offer a reduction in the cost of medical, dental, vision, pharmaceutical and chiropractic services. AmeriPlan® discount benefit programs are not insurance, nor are they an alternative to or substitution for insurance coverage. Since they are not health insurance, members must use AmeriPlan® providers and members are responsible for payment to the AmeriPlan® providers at point of service of discount healthcare fees incurred. If you currently have insurance, you should be aware that canceling that policy may make it difficult to later obtain coverage. AmeriPlan® recommends that you speak to your insurance agent or your company’s insurance administrator before canceling any health insurance policy for any reason.
We dug deeper into research more about the history of consumer complaints of Ameriplan and went straight to the Better Business Bureau website to find that they have over 46 reported complaints that are closed within the last 3 years and 22 closed in the last 12 months.
And while reading the complaints some of which could have been resolved if the person had reviewed the company policy and agreement in detail. One detail many newbies miss is the fact that when joining this company you aren’t considered an insurance agent. Your not, your only considered to be an IBO which means Independent Business Owner of the company as well as can be held liable in the following instances or a possible lawsuit. It’s right there in Section XXII of the Ameriplan IBO Agreement.
Ameriplan Reviews | Conclusion
We have spoken to a few of our students who used to be with Ameriplan and asked them why are they marketing Ameriplan. Some of the reasons they decided to market for Ameriplan is because they wanted to increase their income, they love the discount membership and perks, and some people just love the team. Other people said they hated having to run out of friends and family to talk to, didn’t like standing at the mall and grocery store for hours just waiting to get a sign up from a passerby, and didn’t enjoy the boring training calls.
It’s very clear based on the results of others and people who weren’t having success that this program is not for everyone, yet many marketers still hype it up and market as if its the greatest thing since sliced bread. The danger to this type of marketing is getting your hopes up only to your dismay you find out it’s not all that it appears to be. See motivation is short lived and if you want to succeed at growing a successful sale force in your team it’s going to require you to be inspired to learn internet marketing skills.
The bottom line here is simply this, you are going to need more leads than you have time for and always understand that each time you have someone reject your offer or opportunity you are leaving money on the table. It doesn’t have to be this way in fact you can earn and grow at the same time in your Ameriplan business while increasing your marketing and advertising capital to sustain yourself for long term success.
You must work smarter than your competition and you must learn a new set of digital marketing skills that are more up to date, that will enhance your value making you more attractive to the market than what you are being taught by your Ameriplan upline.
