In today’s blog, we are going to talk about how to deal with unsupportive family and friends while building or starting a business.
You got your laptop out on the kitchen table and you are typing away writing a blog post and suddenly your family member comes to sit by you asking why are you even wasting your time doing a business when you should just get a real job and earn a pay check.
I know this experience all too well in fact both Rich and I went through the exact same situation when we finally told our family and friends that we were on the path to earning our own six figure income with our lifestyle business as internet marketers.
So when we got the question for Ask Ace & Rich how do we deal with unsupportive family and friends while growing a business we saw the opportunity to discuss this on video.

How To Deal With Unsupportive Family and Friends
No matter what your family and friends think about your journey never let them effect your success because it is something they can’t comprehend.
You see this is why we stay away from sharing our business with our own friends and family because in reality they are just not experienced or qualified to become entrepreneurs.
Not everyone in your family will support you in the way you want them to but there are other ways they can which will help you feel like they are helping you in a way.
Case point example, let’s say you are a stay at home mom or stay at home dad and while your are building the business from your kitchen or bedroom just ask the spouse to give you time and space to focus on what your tasks are for the day by keeping noise distractions down.
This helps you stay focused and your spouse can see you are very serious in treating your business like a six figure business.
The other way would be to have your friends support you by not bringing up in conversation negative comments regarding your business status, just say all is well and I am doing great! next subject.
I’ve done this with my close friends as they know that the moment I start talking about what I am doing with my business they give me that ‘deer in the headlights’ look so I don’t even waste my time and just change the subject to something they can understand.
I’m sure you can relate to what we are saying about having the unsupportive family and friends case scenario and it can feel frustrating because you love these people so much and want them to share in your journey but…its okay for them not to know and move on without them but keep in touch.
How are you dealing right now with unsupportive family and friends as you are trying to build a business as an entrepreneur?
