Many of our subscribers have asked us how did we create and add our video covers for our YouTube videos and so we thought it would be awesome to show you exactly how we do it using a free photo editing website called “PicMonkey”.
PicMonkey makes creative tools for photo editing and graphic design for artists and rising graphic designers who want to create images for all types of marketing purposes.  I absolutely love PicMonkey! Through using this free online service I have been able to create all types of images for my internet marketing such as widgets, banners, posters, flyers, business cards, scrapbook, timeline covers, and now YouTube custom thumbnail covers.
The possibilities are endless what you can do with such an incredible tool and your imagination!
YouTube Custom Thumbnail Feature Are For Partners Only
Not everyone has the custom thumbnail feature you must become a YouTube Partner to qualify for it to be activated.  In order for you to become a YouTube partner your channel must be in good standing.  You can log into your YouTube account and click on “Channel Settings” to view your rating.  If it is in good standing then the next step is to select the “Monetization” feature. This will activate the advertisements to be featured on your videos but if you don’t want them to appear it’s not necessary. Now you should be able to see the Custom Thumbnail feature appear in your video manager/edit video area.
Why A YouTube Custom Thumbnail Is Necessary
Thumbnails act like the art covers which teases your viewer on what the topic your video is about. Â Think of how many videos you have visited last week and I bet you only clicked on the videos that had an eye-popping thumbnail. Â That’s what they’re there for, to pop out at you a “call to action” to click on play. Â By adding a custom thumbnail to your videos will distinguish the importance of the topic or subject and increase subscribers as well as views.
You must have a free account with PicMonkey, don’t worry about the upgrade to Royal at this time that is optional should you want to pay for the additional features.
